Where to Obtain a Visa?
As is well known, many countries require visas from citizens of the Republic of Turkey. It is mandatory to complete visa procedures to be able to have a holiday abroad in any country. Visas are generally issued by the following institutions:
- Consular section in the Embassies of the countries to be visited
- Consulates General
- Consulates in our country
- Some countries also have Honorary Consulates and Honorary Consuls
According to the generally determined rules, visa applications are made in the countries where individuals reside. As is well known, many embassies and consulates of the countries to be visited are located in Turkey. Individuals who will travel abroad can make their visa applications by selecting the representatives close to their residence areas. Information about the process can be obtained from the web pages of various countries’ consulates in our country. In addition, it is possible to obtain information by using the communication numbers of consulates or embassies. In some cases, obtaining a visa can also be done through tourism companies that sell overseas tours. There are also companies and institutions that operate solely for obtaining visas.
What Documents Are Required to Obtain a Visa?
To be able to obtain an exit permit or visa for abroad, it is necessary to obtain some documents completely. However, first of all, it is necessary to determine for what purpose you will obtain a visa. As is well known, there are different types of visas such as work visa, student visa, and tourist visa. Individuals can make their procedures easier by applying for the most suitable visa type for themselves.
In fact, the documents requested in visa applications may vary from country to country, the purpose of the trip to be made, and the passport type of the applicant. However, there are essential documents for every type of visa application. These documents can be listed as follows:
- 2 Biometric Photos Taken Within the Last 6 Months
The background of the photo must be white. Generally, 2 photos are requested in visa applications, but the number may increase.
- Travel Health Insurance
Taking out travel health insurance is one of the documents that must be obtained to ensure that the visa application process proceeds positively. The travel health insurance that citizens who want to go to Schengen countries will take out must have a minimum guarantee of 30,000 euros.
- Visa Application Form
Each piece of information requested on the visa application form must be filled out completely and accurately by the applicant and signed with their wet signature.
- Documents showing hotel and flight reservations
Individuals must provide proof of their flight tickets to the relevant institutions, indicating when they will travel abroad. Additionally, they must create a document showing where they will be staying and which hotel they have made a reservation with.
- A passport valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip
The passport obtained must be valid for 6 months after the end of the overseas trip. Additionally, there must be enough blank pages in the passport for the visa.
- Documents demonstrating economic means
Individuals must present documents that demonstrate they will not experience economic difficulties during their overseas trip. Bank statements, real estate photocopies, and other materials can demonstrate their financial status.
- Invitation letter
Although not mandatory, an invitation letter may be required depending on the type of visa being obtained.
For employees who will apply for a visa, the following documents are required: the last 3 months of the Social Security Institution Service Statement, the last 3 months of payslips, the Social Security Institution Employment Declaration, and the signed and stamped or signed permission letter on letterhead paper. If any of these documents are missing, there may be some delays in the visa application process.
